Through my work, I present a threshold of visual communication where the audience must initiate interaction in order for the work to be seen in its intended entirety. I do this in two main ways. On a small scale, I create sculptures or vignettes that must be experienced through some sort of viewing apparatus or contraption. On a large scale, I construct viewer interactive installations, which become uniquely complete for each person as they enter and take on their own role within the piece. I work intuitively to set up dramatic installations using light and space involving a sculptural vocabulary that welcomes debate. Each viewer's history and perspective are integral elements in the interpretation of my work.
